Mark your calendars, wine lovers and Francophiles! On November 16th, The Chalet is bringing a little slice of France to Rossendale, and you’re invited! We can almost hear the clinking of wine glasses and smell the aroma of hearty French cuisine wafting through the air. It’s the closest thing you’ll find to a French alpine village, right in our own backyard – minus the need for a passport or ski lift pass!

Our local Frenchman Dominique and host will be rolling out the barrels of the latest Beaujolais Nouveau, with Stuart from the vineyard wine shop in Ramsbottom ready for some serious quaffing. And let’s face it, when it comes to wine, Dominique doesn’t mess around. Expect to taste the freshest Beaujolais – it’s like a party in a bottle, with fruity flavours that are as lively as a cancan dancer!

But it’s not just about the wine (though, let’s be honest, that’s a big part of it). We’ll also be serving up some delicious, mouth-watering Boeuf Bourguignon. This classic French dish is the kind of comfort food that warms your soul and makes you wonder why you don’t cook with more red wine and butter.

And if the wine and food aren’t enough to lure you in, how about a little French lingo? Dominique will be here, not only to make sure your glass is never empty but also to throw in some French phrases that will have you feeling très chic. Even if your French vocabulary is limited to “bonjour” and “croissant,” you’re guaranteed to leave feeling like a bona fide Francophile.
